Back to Part 3 - Distressing the Dock
After applying a liberal coat of glue and smooshing the parts together, make sure that the alignment is correct by adding 1/8" dowels to the alignment holes
Neatly aligned. Now you can cut off the dowels even with the top surface or leave them in place.
Use yellow carpenters' glue to glue the stairs together.
Press the back and bottom of the stair onto a flat surface to make sure that the parts are properly aligned. Once sure they are aligned, set the stairs aside to dry.
When the base and the stairs are dry, paint them with a coat or two of PolyScale Aged Concrete.
You could cover the base with PaperCreek brick paper for an interesting effect. (Brick paper not included in the kit)
A second coat of Aged Concrete and a little dirt spattered on the base.
